Rosy Pinks

Hello dear readers..........here's one of my favourite vintage charm quilts in rosy pinks and creams......with some beautiful scented stocks i was given at the weekend..........
.........i love these soft subtle pinks so much........and of course the scent is delicious......
..........i had them near me in the sewing room while i was working.......
..........and then i decided to take some pictures of this quilt with my lovely flowers and gathered together some sewing things like spools and wooden boxes and buttons......
..........and added the beeswax candle.......
............quilts and flowers are two of my favourite things........
.........below is the potting shed with white daffodils being buffeted by the high winds we've been having over the past week.....
.........luckily the tiny crabapple tree is sheltered in its tub on the patio and has kept its pretty new blossoms.....
.........the sun came out agin yesterday and we had a lovely walk and spent some time in the garden......
...........happy to see the blue sky and the pink clematis flowers blooming......and to have our first coffee sitting in the warm sun.......it didn't last, but at least it felt like warmer days are coming......
.........one last picture of my vintage charm quilt (pattern for this is in my etsy shop link in sidebar)......
.............thanks for dropping by dear blog friends......a big thank you for the kind comments too....wishing you a happy week ahead with flowers and sunshine and crafty inspirations........take care lovelies........back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

...........here's lettuce the sugar bunny wearing her spring cardigan........and some of my fabric eggs hanging from blossom twigs........

Easter Making

Hello again dear readers.......it's a bright sunny day here in my little corner of the uk and we're getting out the easter decorations......here are some sugar bunnies and some patchwork birds......
..........these little birds are easy to sew and pretty too in their pastel floral fabrics.......
.........the little quilts are log cabin doll quilts which also make nice little table toppers......
.........easter and spring time mean growing and sowing so we have to have some fabric carrots and cross stitched seed packets ........the tiny daffodils i've featured in lots of these pictures are called minnows and we have lots growing in the cottage garden at the moment.....so sweet and tiny......
.........the seed packets can be stitched and made into pincushions or matted on card to make bunting or hangings......
...........pretty spring quilts......an easy four patch and an irish chain.......
..........fabric eggs........and a little patchwork bird on wheels.....(all these patterns can be found in my etsy shop link in sidebar).......
..........more of my gorgeous tulips which inspired a quilt stack of cherry coloured quilts last week.....
.....loving my new little sheep candlestick from maileg.......
.........some of the tulips were frilly ones...........so pretty and a nice surprise when they opened up.......
...........and a little bowl of bright fabric eggs to wish you all a very happy easter......i know it's not till next weekend, but i'm taking a little blog break next week :).........you can still find me on instagram though.....
...........thank you so much for calling in here to see me and a big special thank you to those who so kindly leave me a little comment or message.......it's so nice to hear from you.......wishing you happy spring and easter days..........take care lovelies....................back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Flower Wreath Quilt

Hello again dear readers and welcome to my blog........today we have a new quilt to share with you

.........it's a new flower wreath quilt with delicate colours and lots of quilting to create texture......(the pattern is in my etsy shop link in sidebar)........

..........the wreaths are made from simple appliqué and can be stitched by hand or by machine if you prefer.....
.........each wreath block is surrounded by striped sashing and pink cornerstones......the fabrics are sweet liberty by moda, tilda stripes, and kona cotton solid in white.......the quilting was done in two ways....first it was longarm machine quilted with a berry and leaf pattern by debbie at scrapbox quilting and then it was hand quilted round the wreaths and butterflies by me.......i love the squishy vintage style of this quilt.....
.........more flowery quilts here with the flower pots quilt on the back of the chair.......
........and a stack of scrappy floral quilts........
...........some of my mother's day flowers from the weekend.......i'm such a lucky mother......
.........a sweet hydrangea for my cottage garden......and a beautiful bouquet of cherry pink tulips....
.............this week there was a very high tide on our bit of coastline so we went to watch the waves crashing....
..........it was sunny and blue and there were flocks of seabirds as well as single large white gulls......so beautiful and timeless......the high tide meant the water was lapping over onto the promenade.....(we had our boots on fortunately).......
..........on the walk back i snapped these beautiful daffodils giving the roadside a bright splash of colour...

.....thanks for calling by dear readers..........thanks so much for your kind comments and wishing you a wonderful week with happy crafty times...........take care lovelies ............peace and love.......back soon xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
